Imagine you are staying in a place where you can see only green and green !! Yes friends, I am telling you about the havens of green “Cameron Highlands”. If you are a nature lover,  Cameron Highlands can be a great destination for you. Trust me! It’s really an amazing place to visit. 

In this article, I will give you a complete guide to make your journey more easy and interesting. My goal is to cover every important point that you need to know before visiting there. I believe, after completing this article, you will know every important guide regarding Cameron Highlands.

2. About Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands is located in Pahang which is one of the popular states in Malaysia. The distance between Cameron Highlands is around 200 km (124 miles) from Kuala Lumpur city. The weather is always cold there. The temperature is around from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F) throughout the year. Here, everywhere you will find the greenery hill, fresh air, fresh vegetables, fruits, tea garden, flowers, etc.

3. The ideal time to visit

“Are you worried about not managing your time from February to April? Don’t worry! Honestly, you can visit anytime and enjoy yourself here. However, the best time to visit is from February to April and September to November. During these months, the weather is perfect (15°C to 25°C) — cold but not freezing, and there is less rain. But, you can visit any time of the year.

However, if you plan to visit from December to January, it might be a bit difficult to enjoy it fully. During these months, the weather is really cold — sometimes dropping below 10°C.” 

So friends! I highly recommend not to come in December to January but if you like cold weather then you are most welcome here that time!!

4.How to Travel

No worry! I am giving you the proper guide to travel. As we know the distance is around 200km from the KL city. You have many options to visit there. 👇

Bus: Several bus companies have daily trips to Cameron Highlands from KL, Ipoh, and Panang. If you want to travel from KL city, the bus departs from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) and takes 4-5 hours to arrive at Cameron Highlands. The ticket fee is around  RM 50 ($8- $12), you can purchase it online or physically from the terminal. 👍

Car: This is suitable for a group of friends or family. You can find many taxi / grab drivers in KL city and contact them. The taxi driver takes around 3-4 hours depending on the traffic. It’s a little bit more expensive than bus travel. The driver charges around  RM 400 to RM 600 ($110 – $140) 🙂

Train: There is no direct train service from KL to Cameron Highlands. However, you can travel from KL to Ipoh by train and then catch a bus or hire a taxi from Ipoh to Cameron Highlands. Since it requires a change of transport — it’s not suitable for everyone.😫😫

Train + Bus: RM 45 to RM 70 ($10 – $15).

Train + Taxi: RM 225 to RM 350 ($60 – $80)

Note: Bus (RM 40 – RM 60) <  train (RM 50 – RM 350 ) < car (RM 400 – RM 600 )

5. Hotel and food

Congratulations! Finally, you arrive at your destination. But now you have to find a place to stay and take the food for service right?? 😅

Basically, there will be 2 main towns — Tanah Rata and Brinchang where you can get your favorite hotels and food. Below I can recommend some of them to you.

5.1 Tanah Rata (The main town in Cameron Highlands)

  • Type: It’s a Luxury hotel (Luxury)
  • Description: This hotel is one of the best hotels in Cameron Highland. It’s expensive, but they provide many facilities for visitors. Here you will find luxurious rooms, delicious food, sports facilities, and so on.

2. Heritage Hotel Cameron Highlands

  • Type:  If you have a mid-budget this hotel is suitable for you. (Mid-range.) 
  • Description: This hotel will provide you with luxurious rooms, delicious food, a children’s indoor playground, gymnasiums, a fish pond, and so on.

3. Father’s Guesthouse

  • Type: If you want a budget-friendly hotel, this can be suitable for you. (budget-friendly)
  • Description: Popular among budget travelers, offering affordable, clean rooms and a friendly atmosphere.

  • Type: One of the renowned luxury hotels in the Brinching area. (Luxury)
  • Facilities: It’s a renowned hotel. Here you can find luxury rooms, food, a gym, indoor swimming pools, children’s playground, Pickleball Courts, etc.

5. Kea Garden Guesthouse

  • Type:  If you have a mid-budget this hotel is suitable for you. (Mid-range.) 
  • Facilities: comfortable room, kea market is nearest by this hotel, beautiful view of the farm and so on.

6. Snooze Hotel

  • Type: It’s one of the cheaper but good hotels (budget-friendly)
  • Description: Snooze is a good and budget-friendly hotel. It’s very near to Brinchang Night Market. The hotel always offers clean and simple accommodation with a preferable budget.

Honestly, it’s a haven for nature lovers. Cameron Highland offers many beautiful palaces to visit. In this article, I have picked the top 8 attractions for you from my side.

6.1 Lavender Garden

It’s one of the most beautiful places in Cameron Highland. Here you can find beautiful purple lavender flowers. It can be the best photography place for you. And I recommend not to miss their ice cream, tea, essential oils, and shops!!

6.2 BOH Tea Garden

You visit there but don’t visit the BOH Tea Garden – that means you miss something special in Cameron Highland!! 

As a visitor — you can explore the process of tea production, drink super fresh tea and so many things to do.

I highly recommend — don’t miss your breakfast beside the BOH tea garden. It will be an amazing experience for you!! Just try, see, and then thank me..hihihi. 🤩

It’s another beautiful place around Cameron Highlands. Cactus Valley is a botanical cactus garden where you can find various kinds of cactus plants. It’s very near in Brinchang town. If you visit Cameron Highland don’t forget to explore it.

Dear friends, as I already told — those who love nature Cameron Highland is a haven for them. The mossy forest is a place where you can find green and green,  explore many rare trees, the sweet sound of birds, different orchids, fresh air, and many more things!!

So you must try to explore this place!! And I recommend you to visit in the morning.

Yes, you are correct! “Flora” is related with flowers. Flora Garden is a beautiful place for flower lovers. Not only that, you can find many delicious food there. 

When visit you will notice — this park provides you an amazing scenic view of the highlands.

It’s my high recommendation don’t miss to visit the flora park if you go there.

6.7 Cameron Highlands Night Market

Hey, you are my good friend. Some days ago you visited Cameron Highland and today you are telling me about the story of your journey. You are talking about your memory, your enjoyment, and everything. 

But when I ask you what is your experience with Cameron Highland night market??

Your answer: Cameron Highland night market !! I didn’t visit there because it’s just a market!

It’s a good place to visit. Here you can get fresh Strawberries. You can collect the strawberry from the tree. You will feel that you are the owner of this farm 😆 

Many farms, such as “ Big Red Strawberry Farm” and “Raju’s Hill Strawberry Farm”, are very popular there.

It can be your favorite place because you collect the fresh strawberries by yourself for eating. And you will get the natural strawberry ice cream and also many more things to explore there. 👍

  • The weather is always cold there, so take a good amount of clothes.
  • When you visit the mossy forest try to take a local guide there.
  • You should talk 3-4 days plan to visit there.
  • As It’s the hill, but don’t worry about transportation, you will find transport there.
